Door and Side Window Replacement in San Leandro and the East Bay

What's involved

The door panel comes off, the broken glass is cleared out of the door cavity, and the new glass is fitted into the regulator and aligned so it seals against the weatherstrip.

Break-in cleanup

Side windows are tempered, so they burst into thousands of small pebbles instead of cracking. Those pebbles end up in the door, under the seats, in the seat rails and in the carpet. We vacuum the door cavity, the seats and the floor before we finish. Glass left inside the door will rattle and can jam the window later.

What we check while the panel is off

• The regulator and motor, since the same impact often bends them
• The window track and run channel for trapped glass
• The weatherstrip and the seal along the top of the door

How long it takes

Usually under an hour per window, and you can drive as soon as we're done. There's no adhesive cure time on door glass.
