Windshield Replacement in San Leandro and the East Bay
When a crack has spread past the point of repair, the glass has to come out. We do the full replacement wherever the car is parked.
What's involved
The old windshield is cut free of its urethane bond, the pinchweld is cleaned and primed, and the new glass is set with fresh adhesive. Mouldings and clips are replaced at the same time, since the originals rarely survive removal intact.
Most jobs use quality aftermarket glass. If you want OEM glass, say so when you call and we'll price it that way.
When a windshield can't be repaired
- The crack reaches the edge of the glass
- The damage sits in the driver's line of sight
- A crack longer than about six inches
- Several chips clustered close together
- The inner layer of glass is broken, not just the outer
How long it takes
About an hour on site for most cars, SUVs and vans. After that the adhesive needs time to set before the car is driven, usually another hour depending on the weather. We'll tell you exactly how long before we leave.
What to have ready when you call
The year, make and model, and whether the car has a rain sensor or a camera mounted behind the mirror. That determines which glass we bring and what the price is.
